Job summary

Stantec is offering an Intern/Co-op position in Chattanooga focused on civil/geotechnical exposure within water infrastructure projects. The role emphasizes assisting in planning geotechnical explorations, report writing, and data evaluation while gaining hands-on field and CAD experience on projects for municipalities, utilities, and government clients.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and strong communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.
• Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating geotechnical explorations.
• Assist in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
• Assist technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data, preparing reports, and performing calculations for design projects.
• Perform modeling and design activities on a variety of water infrastructure projects.
• Assist engineers with reviewing boring logs and laboratory data.
• Assist engineers in executing geotechnical analysis and evaluation of geotechnical hazards, as it relates to design and construction phases of the project.
• Gaining exposure and performing basic tasks in CAD and other design programs
• Performing construction observations and assisting with geotechnical field work, as needed
• Completing other engineering/administrative duties as required
