Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. invites motivated students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering to join as an Intern/Co-op. You’ll gain exposure to geotechnical explorations, CAD work, and a range of water infrastructure projects for municipal, state, federal clients.

Office tasks, field observations, and report drafting are part of the role, with learning opportunities across teams. Ideal candidates are in progress with a civil engineering degree, comfortable multi-tasking,

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in civil engineering or related field.
• Fundamental knowledge of geotechnical topics.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating geotechnical explorations.
• Assist in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports
• Assist technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data, preparing reports, and performing calculations for design projects
• Perform modeling and design activities on a variety of water infrastructure projects
• Assist engineers with reviewing boring logs and laboratory data.
• Assist engineers in executing geotechnical analysis and evaluation of geotechnical hazards, as it relates to design and construction phases of the project.
• Gaining exposure and performing basic tasks in CAD and other design programs
• Performing construction observations and assisting with geotechnical field work, as needed
• Completing other engineering/administrative duties as required
