Job summary

WSP is seeking a geotechnical engineer to lead civil design of mine waste containment and heap leach facilities in Nevada. You will oversee layout, site selection, and generate design drawings and specifications for construction.

The role involves managing geotechnical projects, field investigations, lab work, and complex analyses, while guiding multi-disciplinary teams and contributing to proposals. Candidates should have strong project management skills and be able to deliver quality reports

Responsibilities

  • Lead civil design of mine waste containment and heap leach facilities, including layout and site selection.
  • Conduct geotechnical and hydrologic analyses and prepare design drawings and specifications.
  • Manage mine waste geotechnical projects, including field investigations, lab testing, data interpretation, and analyses.
  • Scope, direct, and review complex geotechnical analyses: stability, seepage, thermal modeling, deposition/runout for mine waste or water embankment dams.
  • Independently manage projects per client scopes and deliver high-quality reports on time and within budget.
  • Provide or contribute to client relationships and business development activities.
  • Work with and lead multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Support technical proposals and design work packages.
  • Manage the work of junior engineers.
  • Remain current in latest geotechnical practices.

WSP is seeking a

  • Leading the civil design of mine waste containment (tailings and waste rock) and heap leach facilities including initial layout and design, site selection and facility layout, geotechnical and hydrologic analyses, and preparation of design drawings and technical specifications for construction.
  • Managing and executing a wide variety of mine waste geotechnical engineering projects, including geotechnical field investigations, laboratory testing programs, data interpretation, and geotechnical analysis.
  • Scoping, directing, and reviewing complex geotechnical analyses with a focus on soil mechanics, including stability, seepage, thermal modelling; deposition modeling; and run out analyses for mine waste or water embankment dams and waste rock spoils.
  • Independently managing projects according to client-approved scopes of work and delivering high quality reports on time and within budget subject to senior review and oversight.
  • Providing or contributing to client relationship and business development activities focused on building and growing our business
  • Working with and leading multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Supporting technical proposals and design work package in response to client needs.
  • Managing the work of junior engineers.
  • Remain current in latest geotechnical
