Job summary

Leidos seeks a User Engagement Engineer SME for the Chinook Program to bridge user needs with geospatial intelligence tech. You’ll drive adoption, train diverse user groups, and translate requirements into actionable improvements in enterprise environments.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, system engineers, developers, and product managers, contributing to a user-centered culture and strong customer satisfaction in a mission-critical setting.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required for the contract.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geospatial Science, Information Technology, or related field with 12–15 years of prior experience, or Master’s with 10–13 years.
• 8+ years of experience in user engagement, geospatial intelligence, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of geospatial intelligence systems, mapping tools, and geospatial data.
• Experience with agile methodologies and understanding of the development lifecycle.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical users.
• Proficiency with program management tools and reporting systems (MS Project, SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence).

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of user engagement strategies to enhance adoption and satisfaction for geospatial intelligence solutions within the Chinook Program.
• Collaborate with customer stakeholders, mission owners, and technical teams to understand requirements, workflows, and pain points.
• Design and deliver user training, workshops, and sessions for varying user levels, from operators to senior leadership.
• Gather and analyze user feedback, providing actionable insights to drive improvements and new features.
• Champion human-centered design and advocate for exceptional user experience.
• Support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, user story development, and acceptance testing.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and operational evaluations.
• Develop strategies to increase adoption of new capabilities across the enterprise.
• Identify usability issues and recommend enhancements based on feedback and priorities.
• Present technical information to technical, non-technical, and executive audiences.
• Act as primary contact for user inquiries and ensure timely issue resolution.
• Collaborate with SMEs and technical teams to translate needs into system requirements and improvements.
• Assist in creating user documentation, FAQs, and support materials.
• Stay current with customer missions, technology advancements, and industry trends.
• Track engagement metrics and report on KPIs to measure effectiveness.
