Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Mid-Level Test Engineer to join the Chinook Program supporting an Intelligence Community customer. You will work within a cross-functional Agile Scrum Team to design and execute comprehensive test strategies that enable rapid, high-quality software delivery.

You will lead automated and manual testing efforts, integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with engineers, product managers, and system engineers to ensure acceptance criteria are met.

Qualifications

• Requires US citizenship per contract and a STEM degree with 4–8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in software testing/quality engineering across Agile programs.
• Ability to create and execute manual and automated test plans.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Cypress or Playwright.
• Experience with API testing using Postman or REST Assured.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
• Defect management in Jira and strong communication with stakeholders.
• Preferred: DoD/IC program experience, scripting (JavaScript, Python), Docker/Kubernetes, performance testing, cloud (AWS/Azure/OpenShift), DevSecOps practices, GEOINT knowledge, certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, development, and execution of comprehensive test strategies across multiple Agile sprints.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated and manual test cases for new and existing capabilities.
• Collaborate daily with software engineers, product managers, system engineers, and Scrum Masters to define acceptance criteria and ensure quality is built into every release.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate application performance, reliability, security, and usability.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution.
• Support CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated testing into deployment workflows.
• Analyze test results, communicate risks, and provide recommendations that improve software quality.
• Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance Agile team effectiveness.
