Job summary
GovCIO is seeking a Mid-Level Geospatial Engineer to support the U.S. Coast Guard Data & AI Integration Team from Kearneysville, WV. The role involves developing, maintaining, and evaluating enterprise geospatial systems and data, under guidance of senior engineers.
Responsibilities include deploying secure data services, assisting with platform migrations, and ensuring data quality and metadata standards within DevSecOps environments. Clearances and DoD certifications are part of the role.
Qualifications
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required or equivalent.
- Basic proficiency in Python programming.
- Foundational experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Data Store or comparable GIS data management tools.
- Understanding of system lifecycle management, infrastructure engineering, and CM baselines.
- Proficiency tracking tasks and dependencies using Jira, Azure DevOps, or ServiceNow.
Responsibilities
- Deploy centralized, secure geospatial data services.
- Support infrastructure optimization and platform migrations.
- Review vendor deliverables like web maps and geoprocessing tools.
- Translate mission requirements into technical specs for GIS solutions.
- Provide technical help to program office, cybersecurity, and contractors.
