Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC in Glen Allen, VA is seeking a Survey Project Manager to lead land surveying projects from planning through final delivery. You will manage scopes, budgets, schedules, contracts, billing, and overall financial performance while coordinating field and office teams on concurrent projects.

You will provide technical oversight, sign/seal survey deliverables, ensure regulatory and safety compliance, and maintain strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Previous industry-related experience in a professional or project management capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and/or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large-scale projects.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Geopak and MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to oversee, mentor and motivate a project team.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and problem solve on the fly.
• Ability to meet aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration.
• Professional License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead land surveying projects from planning through final delivery.
• Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, contracts, billing, and financial performance.
• Supervise and coordinate field and office teams, resources, and work plans across multiple concurrent projects.
• Provide technical oversight and sign/seal survey deliverables, including plats, easements, exhibits, and right-of-way documents, as required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, safety requirements, and company quality standards.
• Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships with clients, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, contributing to proposals, and fostering client relationships.
• Mentor and develop staff and represent SAM at client meetings, presentations, and industry events.
