Job summary

Florida Department of Transportation is seeking a Mobile Survey Specialist I to perform lidar and orthoimagery survey tasks, ensuring timely, high-quality 3D remote sensing products. You will operate FDOT hardware/software, review work and coordinate data transfers with districts and partners.

The role supports QA reviews, responds to customer requests, and participates in emergency management data efforts while exploring new mobile surveying technologies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, and one year experience in Surveying & Mapping, Photogrammetry, GIS, or CAD.
• Post secondary education can substitute year-for-year for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical work on lidar or orthoimagery survey projects and checks the work of in-house staff and consultants.
• Assists with quality and timeliness of project deliveries and operates department hardware/software for 3D remote sensing products.
• Creates and evaluates 3D topographic surfaces and coordinates data transfer with districts and consultants.
• Responds to customer requests and supports other teams on mobile remote sensing topics.
• Supports emergency management efforts with data collection/processing for incidents.
• Researches and tests emerging Mobile Survey Technologies.
