Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a GIS Data Specialist to edit and maintain gas, electric, and landbase facility information within the Enterprise GIS and related applications. You will apply QA checks and provide mapping products to internal/external customers, ensuring data accuracy across systems.

The role requires hands-on GIS work, data digitization, and coordination with field verification. Proficiency with AutoCAD and land data processes is valued.

Qualifications

• Completion of degree in GIS or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and work
• Maintain gas, electric and landbase customer service facility information within Xcel Energy's Enterprise GIS
• Process gas and electric facility maintenance construction work orders, company number requests, and redline map corrections
• Input electronic gas and electric facility-related documentation into GIS
• Perform land plat/parcel data placement and digitization within GIS
• Maintain GIS and AutoCAD land base data
• Perform land base data corrections, field verification coordination, land polygon updates, and parcel data maintenance
• Work with internal and external clients in the acquisition of land data
• Support electronic filing of as-built construction work orders

Responsibilities

• Perform edits on gas, electric, and landbase facility information within Xcel Energy's Enterprise GIS and subsequent software applications
• Utilize QA processes to ensure data integrity for downstream applications
• Perform general data integrity and GIS maintenance work to improve data accuracy and reliability
• Provide specialized services and mapping products to internal and/or external customers as needed
• Maintain gas, electric, and landbase customer service facility information using work order documentation and customer information
• Process facility maintenance construction work orders, company number requests, and redline map corrections
• Input electronic gas and electric facility-related documentation into GIS
• Perform land plat/parcel data placement and digitization
• Coordinate field verification and update land polygons and parcel data
• Acquire land data from internal and external clients
• Support electronic filing of as-built construction work orders for accurate, accessible records via a web interface
• Core Competencies: Demonstrates expertise in GIS data management, including the maintenance and accuracy of gas, electric, and landbase facility information. Proficient in processing construction work orders and performing land data digitization and verification.
