Job summary

Chord Energy Corp. is seeking an experienced Geoscientist to join our New Ventures team in Houston, TX. You will conduct geological and geophysical studies, build models, and drive decision-making for conventional and unconventional plays.

The role requires 10+ years of E&P experience, proficiency with Petrel or Kingdom, and strong communication skills. Hybrid schedule with some remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Geophysics, or related geoscience.
• 10+ years of active exploration and production experience.
• Proficiency in Petrel or Kingdom geological interpretation software.
• Unconventional resource plays experience.
• Strong cross-functional communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geological and geophysical studies to identify new exploration opportunities.
• Develop and interpret geological models to support exploration decisions.
• Predict subsurface drivers for well performance and define type curve areas.
• Perform pre-drill risk assessments on proposed new drill locations.
• Assist in due diligence efforts for acquisitions and divestitures.
• Prepare clear reports and presentations for senior leadership.
