Job summary

Chord Energy seeks an experienced Geoscientist to join the New Ventures team in downtown Houston, TX. You will evaluate both conventional and unconventional plays, build models, assess risks, and support investment decisions.

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will apply data analytics and machine learning to improve subsurface interpretation and exploration strategy across assets and prospective plays. This role offers a hybrid schedule with remote Mondays and Fridays.

Qualifications

• Education: Geology/Geophysics/geoscience degree.
• 10+ years E&P exploration experience.
• Proficiency in Petrel/Kingdom or equivalent.
• Hands-on unconventional play evaluation.
• Strong cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geological/geophysical studies to identify opportunities.
• Develop models to support exploration and decisions.
• Predict subsurface drivers for well performance.
• Assess pre-drill risk for new locations.
• Support acquisitions and divestitures with geological input.
• Assist deal flow evaluation with subsurface insights.
• Utilize data analytics and ML to enhance workflows.
• Maintain geologic databases and reports for leadership.
