Job summary

TotalEnergies is seeking a Senior Geoscientist in Houston to autonomously generate, mature and evaluate exploration plays and prospects. You will support exploration teams across regions, promoting innovative ideas based on extensive oil and gas experience.

The role includes coaching junior geoscientists, integrating G&G data for play definition, and delivering documented assessments with uncertainties. Expect a dynamic, collaborative environment with global exposure.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates a rigorous approach to geology and geophysics (G&G), strong listening skills, the ability to challenge established paradigms, and openness to new ideas.

Responsibilities

• Direct technical contribution (interpretation at the workstation, prospect evaluation).
• Strong contribution to efficient drilling of exploration wells. Ensure post-drilling results align with pre-drilling estimates.
• Deliver high ranked prospects following internal processes, guides, and rules.
• Guarantee consistency and proper integration of G&G data for play/prospect generation and maturation.
• Deliver documented assessment of prospects (uncertainty on volumes and risks).
• Propose adequate data acquisitions and studies to reduce risks for promising plays.
• Integrate and synthesize all relevant G&G data supporting play definition.
• Perform basin synthesis studies focusing on description and risking of petroleum systems.
