Job summary

ConocoPhillips is seeking Geosciences Interns to interpret subsurface data for hydrocarbon exploration and development. You will work with a mentor and a team, gaining exposure to basin studies, exploration plays, and field development.

Assignments span Midland, Houston, or Anchorage with 10–12 weeks duration and occasional field activities. Ideal candidates are pursuing a Geology/Geophysics/Engineering degree, with a GPA meeting the program’s expectations, and are available for a mid-late May

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field
  • Pursuing a Master's or higher in related technical field, or foreign equivalent
  • Current level in college: Graduate Student

Responsibilities

  • 3D seismic interpretation of fault juxtaposition to predict trap geometry and size
  • Sequence stratigraphic interpretation of an exploration play
  • Detailed 3D seismic interpretation of known fields to select drilling locations
  • Prospect generation and well proposals in various locations
  • Development and recompletion opportunities in conventional and unconventional plays
  • Unconventional facies and rock type modeling for hydraulic fracturing analysis
