Job summary

Diamondback Energy seeks a Geoscience Intern to lead a summer project, collaborating with a team of geoscientists and engineers on subsurface characterization, target identification, appraisal drilling evaluation, and portfolio management in Midland, TX.

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Geosciences, Geology, or a similar discipline.
Must have strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
Must be willing to work in Midland, TX for the duration of the internship.
Must be returning to school for the Fall 2027 semester.

Responsibilities

Work on an assigned geoscience project and present results to Diamondback's executive team.
Develop geoscience skills under a mentor's guidance.
Collaborate with Geoscience and other disciplines on exploration projects.
Evaluate upside potential on assets to determine inventory via appraisal drilling with geologic/economic justification.
Support basin-wide technical assessment work for drilling projects.
Participate in on-site field visits to learn about field operations and rigs.
