Duties- Meet the requirements of the state licensing agency and be physically and mentally fit to care for children.
- Plan, supervise, and implement the classroom program in accordance with Provider policies and philosophy.
- Ensure the classroom environment is well-maintained, organized, and conducive to learning.
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with children, parents, staff, and others. Build partnerships with parents through respectful interactions, daily communication, conferences, and involvement opportunities.
- Provide outstanding customer service and demonstrate professionalism in daily work habits.
- Treat children with dignity and respect, addressing their individual interests, talents, needs, cultural backgrounds, and learning styles.
- Maintain child portfolios and participate in ongoing observation-based assessments, including using BFTS Work Sampling online assessment.
- Attend staff meetings, training programs, and professional development activities, completing required hours, including after-hours sessions.
- Physically capable of lifting 30 pounds, responding to children’s needs, and performing activities such as reaching, sitting on the floor, and moving quickly within the classroom.
- Stand for long periods, up to 90% of the day.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with a proficiency level of 90-95% understood by parents and staff.
- Handle daily stresses, conflicts, and unexpected circumstances positively and promptly, excluding violent situations.
- Represent the Provider professionally at all times.
- Adhere to professional standards, maintaining the dignity and integrity of the early childhood education profession.
- Avoid unprofessional conduct that could damage the reputation of the Provider, Georgia’s Pre-K Program, or the Department.
- Demonstrate dedication to the role and responsibilities.
Requirements- Must be 21 years or older.
- ECE or approved ECE-related Bachelor’s Degree or higher credential.
- Two-year degree (e.g., Grandfathered Associate Degree or Montessori Diploma).
- Bachelor’s Degree not related to Early Childhood Education.
