Hamilton Miller & Birthisel LLP in Georgia seeks a Georgia-barred Attorney to independently manage litigated commercial general liability defense matters with limited oversight from the managing partner of the book of business.

The attorney will maintain full ownership of case strategy, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, client communications, and participation in business development initiatives within Georgia state courts.

Qualifikationen

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Georgia Bar.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in commercial general liability matters.
• Trial experience required.
• Significant experience taking and defending expert depositions required.

Aufgaben

• Manage a full caseload of commercial general liability matters from inception through resolution
• Handle all aspects of litigation including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation
• Draft and argue dispositive and substantive motions, including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and motions in limine
• Conduct and defend depositions of plaintiffs, fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and expert witnesses
• Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, exhibit coordination, trial briefs, and evidentiary strategy
• Participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, and settlement conferences
• Conduct site inspections and attend in-person hearings and depositions as required
• Collaborate with partners, associates, paralegals, and support staff to ensure cases progress efficiently and strategically
• Ensure compliance with court rules, deadlines, and case management orders
