Hamilton Miller & Birthisel LLP is seeking an Attorney to independently manage defense litigated cases in Florida state courts, handling trial preparation, client communications, and business development. The role involves high-volume matters, depositions, site inspections, and potential trial appearances with minimal oversight.

Required are a JD, active Georgia Bar membership, and a minimum of two years in insurance defense with demonstrated trial experience, including expert deposition work.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active Georgia Bar in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense matters.
• Demonstrated trial experience.
• Significant experience taking and defending expert depositions.

Responsibilities

• Independently manages defense litigated cases with minimal senior oversight.
• Serves in jury trials and evidentiary hearings.
• Conducts and defends depositions (fact and expert).
• Drafts dispositive motions and argues at hearings.
• Performs site inspections and attends in-person depositions as required.
• Develops litigation strategy and advises clients on trial readiness.
• Maintains compliance with court rules, deadlines, and procedures.
• Grows client relationships and manages an expanding book of business.
