Job summary

Hamilton Miller & Birthisel LLP in Georgia seeks an experienced Attorney to independently manage defense litigated cases with minimal oversight. You will own case strategy, trial prep, client communications, and business development within Florida state courts.

Expect handling a high volume of matters, participating in in-person depositions and site inspections, and trial when matters proceed to litigation. The role requires a J.D.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active Georgia Bar membership.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance defense matters.
• Demonstrated trial experience required.
• Significant experience taking and defending expert depositions.

Responsibilities

• Independently manages defense litigated cases with minimal oversight.
• Serves in jury trials and evidentiary hearings.
• Conducts and defends fact and expert depositions, including retained and opposing experts.
• Drafts dispositive motions and argues at hearings, including summary judgment.
• Performs site inspections and attends in-person depositions as needed.
• Develops litigation strategy, evaluates exposure, and guides clients toward trial-ready outcomes.
• Maintains growing client relationships and a expanding book of business.
