Qualifications

• Meets Georgia certification requirements in appropriate field of education
• Bachelor's degree from PSC-approved college or university
• Previous teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan for appropriate learning experiences based on AKS curriculum.
• Demonstrate command of the school subject being taught.
• Develop and prioritize instructional objectives based on AKS.
• Identify prerequisite skills/knowledge for AKS.
• Plan instruction to promote mastery of prerequisites.
• Analyze student work and assessments to determine needs.
• Prepare written lesson plans to support AKS objectives.
• Plan appropriate assessment of student learning.
• Evaluate, select, and modify resources and activities.
• Review resources including district core materials.
• Provide initial lesson focus and connect to prior knowledge.
• Capture student attention through active involvement.
• Organize content for presentation in logical sequence.
• Utilize effective instructional strategies and provide feedback.
• Provide collaborative learning opportunities and guided practice.
• Teach essential vocabulary and multiple representations.
• Encourage goal setting and student reflection.
• Maintain professional responsibilities and communications.
