Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan in Bagdad, AZ is seeking a geomechanical engineer to lead technical efforts across site modernization and expansion projects.

Under general supervision, you will provide guidance on geomechanical studies, review and develop recommendations, manage small-to-medium construction efforts, and collaborate on budgeting and capital funding requests. A strong background in rock mechanics and dewatering is preferred.

Qualifications

• Geomechanical engineering experience and project leadership.
• Strong analytical and budgeting capabilities.
• Ability to advise on capital funding and vendor contracts.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice for geomechanical projects and programs.
• Serve as Project Manager or advisor on site construction or expansion projects.
• Review, investigate, and develop engineering recommendations.
• Assist in developing Appropriation Requests (AR) for capital funding.
