Job summary

Stratus has an opening for a Field Technician in the Raleigh area. You will join a survey crew supporting boundary, ALTA, topographic, and related field surveys using the latest equipment and surveying technologies. If you enjoy an active, outdoor role, this position is for you.

Qualifications

• Must pass a drug test.
• Physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites in all weather conditions.
• Willing and able to work overtime as required.
• Have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist Geomatics Field Supervisor and crew with daily workload.
• Operate surveying instruments (prisms, total stations, GPS, data collectors, magnetic locators).
• Assist in locating natural features and man-made structures.
• Position and hold rods, targets, and tripods for measurements.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are ready and secure.
• Read and interpret construction, utility, and survey maps.

The Role

Stratus has recently partnered with Stewart Engineering and we're looking to hire a Field Technician in the Raleigh area. You must be able to work in a team environment as a member of a survey crew assisting in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic, existing conditions, right-of way, transmission line, transportation, construction, and other types of field surveys location utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technologies. Responsibilities

• Assist Geomatics Field Supervisor and other crew members with all aspects of the daily crew workload


• Operate surveying instrumentation and equipment such as prisms, total stations, global positioning systems (GPS), data collectors, and magnetic locaters.


• Assist in the performance of surveys to ascertain the locations of natural features and man-made structures on the Earth's surface, underground, and underwater.


• Position and hold rods, targets, and tripods for use in measuring angles, distances, and elevations.


• Ensure vehicles are supplied and ready for duty.


• Ensure safekeeping of equipment


• Read and interpret construction, utility, and survey maps

Qualifications

Required

• Pass a Drug Test.


• Dependable and physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites in all weather conditions.


• Willing and able to work overtime as required.


• Have a valid divers license


• High school diploma or equivalent
