Job summary

Stratus is seeking a Lead Surveyor - Department Head to oversee surveying projects, lead a team of surveyors and technicians, coordinate fieldwork, and analyze data to produce accurate land surveys. You will prepare detailed reports and documentation that support project objectives and client requirements, with potential work from Atlanta, Raleigh, Richmond or Charlotte offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license for the state of Georgia.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

The Role

The Lead Surveyor - Department Head will play a critical role in overseeing and managing surveying projects to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This position involves leading a team of surveyors and technicians, coordinating fieldwork, and analyzing data to produce precise land surveys. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed reports and documentation that support project objectives and client requirements. Additionally, the Lead Surveyor will engage with clients and stakeholders to communicate findings and provide expert recommendations. Ultimately, this role is essential for delivering high-quality surveying services that meet the needs of our diverse clientele in surrounding areas. The position may work from our Atlanta, Raleigh, Richmond or Charlotte office.

Qualifications

Required

Preferred

• Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and surveying software
• Project management certification or experience managing large-scale surveying projects
