Job summary

Stratus is seeking a Geomatics Field Technician II in Raleigh, NC to support boundary, ALTA, topographic and other field surveys with the latest surveying technology. Join a team delivering precise field measurements and data collection on diverse projects.

You will work outdoors, operate GPS, total stations, prisms, data collectors, and assist in daily crew workload. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required; willingness to work overtime is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist Geomatics Field Supervisor and crew with daily workload.
• Operate surveying equipment (GPS, total stations, prisms, data collectors).
• Help determine locations of features and structures from field surveys.
• Support equipment readiness and vehicle readiness for field duties, and safeguard gear.
• Read and interpret basic maps and survey documents.

The Role

Stratus has recently partnered with Stewart Engineering and we're looking to hire a Field Technician in the Raleigh area. You must be able to work in a team environment as a member of a survey crew assisting in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic, existing conditions, right-of way, transmission line, transportation, construction, and other types of field surveys location utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technologies. Responsibilities

• Assist Geomatics Field Supervisor and other crew members with all aspects of the daily crew workload
• Operate surveying instrumentation and equipment such as prisms, total stations, global positioning systems (GPS), data collectors, and magnetic locaters.
• Assist in the performance of surveys to ascertain the locations of natural features and man-made structures on the Earth’s surface, underground, and underwater.
• Position and hold rods, targets, and tripods for use in measuring angles, distances, and elevations.
• Ensure vehicles are supplied and ready for duty.
• Ensure safekeeping of equipment
• Read and interpret construction, utility, and survey maps

Qualifications

Required

• Pass a Drug Test.
• Dependable and physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites in all weather conditions.
• Willing and able to work overtime as required.
• Have a valid divers license
• High school diploma or equivalent
