Rio Tinto Exploration in Salt Lake City is offering a 3-month Geology / Exploration Internship. You will work alongside experienced geologists on active mineral exploration projects across the United States, gaining hands-on experience with datasets, field mapping, and modelling tools.

As part of an international team, you will develop practical skills to support a future career in geoscience while contributing to safety-focused operations and responsible exploration practices in a dynamic

Qualifications

• At least one year completed in a Geology, Geoscience or related degree program
• Interest in mineral exploration and a desire to learn
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Initiative and a willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks
• Adaptability and a positive attitude when working in field and office environments
• A commitment to safety and responsible work practices

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to field geologic mapping, core logging, sampling and data analysis.
• Be involved in a dynamic team and operation that will allow you to be exposed to and gain valuable hands-on experience on exploration projects.
