Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Geologist to join our client in Welkom, Free State, focusing on interpretation, subsurface modeling, and resource assessment for exploration and development projects.

You will work in a hybrid setup, collaborating with geophysicists and engineers, and stay at the forefront of geological technologies while contributing to portfolio growth and responsible resource development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
• 5+ years of experience in geological interpretation and subsurface modeling.
• Experience with seismic interpretation and well log analysis.

Responsibilities

• Interpret seismic, well log, and core data to delineate geological structures and stratigraphy.
• Build 3D geological models of subsurface reservoirs.
• Estimate hydrocarbon volumes and assess uncertainty in resource estimates.
• Collaborate with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and other geoscientists to integrate data and generate prospectivity maps.
• Prepare geological reports and recommendations for management.
