Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

About the Company

Allan E. Seward Engineering Geology provides geology, soil engineering, and materials testing in southern California. The firm focuses on serving clients within the private and public sectors with services including geologic hazard evaluations, geotechnical exploration and testing, geo design of retaining structures and landslide repairs, construction monitoring, and materials testing. Based out of northern Los Angeles County, our small firm allows staff to gain hands-on experience in various project aspects. We are committed to providing quality services to our clients.

Job Opportunity

We are seeking a full-time Geologist or Civil Engineer. Responsibilities include:

1. Project management, preparing proposals, scope of work, and budgets.
2. Meeting project deadlines; ensuring quality assurance and control of work products.

For Geologists, duties involve:

• Coordinating and completing field investigations (e.g., logging and sampling of borings, downhole logging, trenches), and preparing subsurface logs.
• Creating geologic cross sections and maps.
• Analyzing and writing reports on geologic and geotechnical investigations for various projects.

For Civil Engineers, duties include:

• Performing slope stability analysis, landslide evaluation, liquefaction hazard assessment, settlement analysis, debris flow analysis, foundation design, lateral earth pressure calculations, pavement design, soil and rock mechanics, and groundwater evaluation.

You may also be assigned additional duties periodically by company officers.
