Job summary

HydroGeoLogic, Inc. is seeking a Geologist III for our Reston, VA office. You will support site investigations, interpret geological data, and contribute to remediation oversight across federal and state projects on the eastern U.S.

The role emphasizes field work, data analysis, technical reporting, and collaboration with engineers, scientists, and project managers to protect the environment and public health. A strong background in groundwater and soil assessments is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geophysics, Geological/Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of six years of directly relevant environmental investigation and remediation experience.
• Experience with CERCLA, RCRA, DoD, DoE, and EPA projects including groundwater, soil, vapor intrusion, surface water, sediment and biota methodologies.
• Experience overseeing and monitoring well drilling and installation, interpreting boring logs, collecting samples, and contributing to reports/work plans.
• Demonstrated responsibility, initiative, motivation and creativity; team player with strong time management and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and other MS Office applications.
• Ability to learn and adopt new technologies and digital tools to improve project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental field investigations and remediation projects under supervision.
• Ensure field operations follow Site Safety and Health Plans / Health and Safety Plans.
• Participate in field sampling of water, soil, vapor, surface water, sediment and biota.
• Oversee drilling, monitoring wells, waste transport/disposal, and heavy equipment use.
• Contribute to work plans and deliverables (e.g., RI Reports, SSHP/HASPs, technical memos).
• Assist with data entry, analysis, and interpretation using statistics and visualization tools.
