Freeport-McMoRan is hiring a Geologist II for on-site work in Climax, CO, to support geological exploration and resource modeling. The role requires applying logging techniques, integrating data, and guiding drilling activities within a safety-focused environment.

The candidate will work with a geologist team to develop block models and maps, prepare drill hole databases, and coordinate with metallurgists for ore sample processing. Local housing support is provided for on-site staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field with 3 years of geology experience, or Master’s with 1 year experience.
• Demonstrated ability to identify mineral relationships and interpret geological data.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsabilités

• Complete logging of drill samples and develop resource block models.
• Perform core and RC drill cuttings logging.
• Integrate geological data into maps, sections and plans.
• Lead drilling contractors and coordinate sample prep.
• Prepare and update drill hole databases and mine deposits maps.
• Support site management with regulatory guidance and safety practices.
