Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is seeking a geologist to join our team in Colorado. The role focuses on logging drill samples, building resource models, and integrating diverse geological data into coherent maps and sections.

You will collaborate with geologists and metallurgists to advance exploration and evaluation efforts. The position requires a Bachelor's in Geology with 3 years of field experience or a Master’s with 1 year, strong communication, and the ability to travel as needed to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or related scientific discipline with 3 years' geology experience, OR
• Master's degree in Geology with 1 year geology experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete logging of drill samples and resource block models.
• Perform logging of core and drill cuttings.
• Integrate geological data into maps and cross sections.
• Work with geologists on computerized resource models.
• Prepare and update drill hole databases and maps.
• Supervise drilling and sample preparation contractors.
• Collaborate with metallurgists on ore samples and testing.
• perform geologic mapping of surfaces and underground areas.
• Assist in developing drilling programs and budgets.
• Provide guidance on applicable regulations and safety practices.
