Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is seeking a Junior Geologist to support senior staff with drilling data collection, geologic mapping and resource-model preparation in Colorado. You will log drill samples, map deposits, and assist in interpreting rock, mineral data into block models.

The role involves field and site work, with potential travel up to 50%. The position requires a Geology degree and strong communication skills, safety awareness, and a collaborative work style in a high-altitude mining

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field is required.
• Ability to travel up to 50% domestically.
• Strong communication skills and safety awareness.
• Experience with geological analyses and data interpretation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a Senior Geologist, complete logging of drill samples, geologic mapping, sampling and assist in the completion of resource block models.
• Perform logging of core and reverse circulation drill cuttings.
• Perform geologic mapping of surface and underground areas.
• Assist Senior Geologist with interpretation of geological data into cross-sections and level plans.
• Work with a team to complete resource block models that meet corporate standards.
• Prepare and update drill hole databases, maps of deposits and exploration records.
• Perform rock chip sampling or soil surveys.
• Perform other duties as required.
