Job summary

HIPOWER SYSTEMS in Kansas is seeking a Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and support genset equipment both in the field and at the Olathe facility. You will handle warranty claims, provide technical guidance, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.

The role requires strong mechanical-electrical troubleshooting skills, 5+ years of experience, and the ability to travel up to 80% while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in complex mechanical-electrical equipment.
• 2+ years generator controller programming with brands such as Deep Sea Electronics and ComAp.
• 1+ years' experience of Tier 4 final technology and spark-initiated engines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers with service or warranty issues on gensets.
• Evaluate and process warranty claims in accordance with company policy.
• Perform remote diagnosis and on-site service and coordinate with internal teams for warranty-related replacements.
• Collaborate with the service team to track Work in Process warranties and ensure they are followed daily.
• Travel to customer locations to assess and resolve service issues, complying with safety standards and warranty guidelines.
• Provide technical training and guidance to customers to reduce unnecessary service calls.
• Maintain detailed records of service calls, repairs, and warranty claims; ensure timely documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and adherence to Quality Management System practices.
