Job summary

PowerSecure, Inc. in Durham, NC seeks an Assembly Tech 1 to build, wire, and assemble generator sets per engineering documents and lead instructions. Responsibilities cover setting mechanical components through final electrical wiring and house power integration.

The role requires reading gauges to 1/16 inch, familiarity with hand tools, and preferred electrical experience. Growth opportunities within a dynamic manufacturing environment are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in assembly or maintenance of heavy equipment.
• Ability to read measurement to 1/16 inch.
• Proficient with basic hand tools.
• Electrical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex electrical and mechanical sub-assemblies according to drawings, bills of material, schematics, and/or standard procedures.
• Reference engineering documents and schematics to guide assembly of mechanical parts and wiring of controls and house power.
• Read/understand electrical drawings and properly land/label wiring.
• Mount Genset on its skid with correct hardware and torque.
• Mount stands to skid (ECC, GBC, SCR, disconnect) and set components in place.
• Connect exhaust parts with correct hardware, gaskets and torque.
• Make load cables with correct gauge, lug, and crimp.
• Fabricate CAN harnesses, fuel line, and block heater hoses.
• Install all phases of load cables, bend/install conduit and assemble DEF pumps, solenoids, and complex DEF systems.
• Electrical wire and cable routing per standard workmanship for quality.
• Proficiency with crimping, stripping tools and multimeter; use of wrenches, ratchets, torque wrenches.
• Collaborate daily with others to align priorities for smooth assembly operations.
• Troubleshooting skills; may drill and tap holes, crimps, screws, bolts, rivets, mount control units, and create openings for wiring and instruments.
• Additional responsibilities added as needed.
