Job summary

Labcorp in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a Medical Technologist II to join our oncology lab operations. The role focuses on complex molecular procedures including DNA extraction, genomic library prep, and Next-Generation Sequencing of clinical samples, with an emphasis on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will perform calculations, data analysis, and work both independently and within cross-functional teams to support translational research programs and clinical testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, medical or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology with 3+ years in a molecular lab.
• ASCP certification (or equivalent) preferred with 2+ years in a regulated lab (CLIA/CAP/GLP).
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficiency with Excel and formulas.

Responsibilities

• Perform molecular-based diagnostic analyses in a CLIA-regulated lab (DNA extractions, library prep, sequencing).
• Provide input to development of plans, programs, processes, priorities, and goals.
• Maintain and optimize current lab protocols for maximum efficiency and yield.
• Perform reagent preparation calculations, sample normalization and assay analysis.
• Record activities in electronic database (LIMS) and written lab records.
• Aid in managing supply and reagent inventory.
• Operate laboratory instrumentation and troubleshoot workflow issues to ensure quality.
• Manage several projects at once and learn new concepts quickly with accuracy.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly facility and comply with policies.
