Qualifikationen

• Must be enrolled in, or accepted to, an academic program pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate degree and returning to school the semester following the position or graduating after the position.
• Must be able to commit to 40 hours per week from January-August, May/June-December, or August-December
• Demonstrated leadership in campus activities, clubs, sports, or prior work preferred
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred

Aufgaben

• Contribute to development of a proprietary gene-editing platform for in vitro and in vivo use
• Screen engineered protein variants using a fluorescence-based reporter assay
• Apply computational structure-prediction tools to design engineered protein variants
• Evaluate a modified DNA-nicking Cas9 to reduce unwanted genomic effects while preserving editing efficiency
• Perform basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning/subcloning, western blotting)
• Perform mammalian cell culture techniques (sterile technique, passaging, transfection/electroporation)
• Work with viral vectors and flow cytometry methods
• Document procedures/results using Excel and Prism and collaborate with VelociGene team
