Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is hiring a full-time educator for the DNA Learning Center in Downtown Brooklyn. The role involves providing hands-on genetics instruction to pre-college students during field trips and camps, conducting teacher training, and delivering in-school lessons.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in science, be passionate about teaching, and possess excellent communication skills. The position offers a salary range of $58,000–$78,000, along with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong science background with an interest and/or experience in teaching.
• NYS teaching certification preferred, but not required.
• Experience in personal genomics, DNA barcoding, metabarcoding, or bioinformatics is especially desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on genetics and molecular biology instruction to pre-college students.
• Deliver in-school instruction.
• Assist with laboratory testing and preparation.
• Conduct teacher training and develop teaching modules.
• Present public tours.
