Job summary

UC Irvine's Department of Pediatrics seeks an Administrative Coordinator to provide high-level coordination and support to geneticists, physicians, and genetics counselors. You will act as a liaison for patients and physicians, help patients access services, and facilitate communication within the health system, including EPIC follow-ups.

Under supervision, you will handle complex scheduling, prioritize changing priorities, and ensure accurate documentation while delivering excellent patient

Qualifications

• Strong ability to manage complex scheduling and changing priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems.
• Ability to interact diplomatically and empathetically with a patient population in varying health conditions.
• Demonstrated experience with managed care programs, referral authorization process and ability to interpret health plan benefits.
• Excellent ability to perform in a PC environment including Word, Excel, Outlook and hospital information systems.
• Values and delivers high-quality patient service in resolving questions and problems.
• BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling and priority management across teams.
• Liaise between patients and physicians, enhancing communication.
• Assist patients in accessing services within the health system.
• Follow-up by telephone and EPIC to ensure continuity of care.
