Job summary

The Taylor Group Inc., through its SSI-Richmond unit, is seeking an experienced field service technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engines and generator sets on customer sites in the Richmond, VA area. You will plan travel with the Service Manager and ensure timely, high-quality service forIndustrial equipment.

Responsibilities include inspecting, testing, and repairing complex systems, communicating findings to customers, and supporting ongoing maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience with diesel and/or gas engines including servicing and repairing.
• Electrical experience and knowledge of wiring, diagrams, and AC/DC components.
• Power generation experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Consults with Service Manager to plan work and travel schedules.
• Diagnoses malfunctions, repairs or replaces worn parts, and installs assemblies.
• Provides tools/parts and arranges for on-site repairs at customer locations.
• Inspects and tests machines to ensure proper operation.
• Keeps accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Performs preventive maintenance on generator sets, including fluids, filters, and testing.
