Job summary

Generac is seeking a skilled Generator Technician to install, maintain, and repair generators, ensuring reliable power for customers. You will work with diagnostic tools, read schematics, and follow safety standards.

This role requires 2+ years of generator experience, the ability to lift 50+ lbs, and a valid driver's license. Independent work and teamwork are both essential, and you will be part of an independent channel partner.

  • Valid Driver's License and own tools.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on generators, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot generator malfunctions and failures.
  • Replace or repair defective parts and components as needed.
  • Test and verify repairs to ensure proper operation.
  • Conduct regular inspections of generators and associated systems to identify potential issues or safety hazards.
  • Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports and recommendations.
  • Offer recommendations for upgrades or replacements as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
  • Complete and submit service reports in a timely manner.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations for emergency repairs.
  • Communicate with inside staff regarding the status of work orders.

  • Capable of working in various environmental conditions.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Have your own tools.
  • 2+ years working with generators.
