Job summary

Generac is seeking a field service technician to service and repair residential and commercial generators across North Carolina, including High Point. You will perform on-site maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on 8kW–100kW units, ensuring safety and reliability for customers.

Applicants should have 2–5 years of mechanical experience working with generators, read technical manuals, and lift up to 50 lbs. A valid driver's license and a company vehicle are provided for daily field work.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in a mechanical setting working on 8kW–100kW generators.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance, load-bank testing, and engine diagnostics.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical documents and service manuals.
• Basic set of tools; specialty tools provided.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair generators: change air filters, oil, check battery levels, spark plugs.
• Perform on-site planned maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and troubleshooting for generators (DC & AC voltage).
• Work independently or with a small team and company vehicle servicing residential and commercial standby generators.
• Involves multiple appointments per day.
• Provide excellent customer service, craftsmanship, and attention to detail with your work.
