Job summary

Generac Power Systems, Inc. seeks an experienced generator service technician to repair and maintain 8kW-60kW systems. You will perform on-site diagnostics, oil changes, air filter changes, and battery checks, using company vehicle for residential and commercial standby generators.

Join a local channel partner in High Point, NC, delivering quality workmanship and excellent customer service. Valid driver’s license required; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors is essential.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of mechanical experience working on 8kW-60kW generators.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance, load bank testing, and engine diagnostics.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents and service manuals.
• Basic set of tools; specialty tools will be provided.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair generators: e.g., air filters, oil changes, battery checks.
• Perform on-site planned maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and troubleshooting for generators.
• Work independently or with a small team using a company vehicle servicing residential and commercial standby generators.
• Handle multiple appointments per day.
• Provide excellent customer service, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.

• Service and repair generators: change air filters, change oil, check battery levels, check spark plugs, etc..
• Perform on-site planned maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and troubleshooting for customers generators (includes DC & AC Voltage equipment).
• Work independently or with a small team and company vehicle servicing residential and commercial standby generators.
• Involves multiple appointments per day.
• Provide excellent customer service, craftsmanship, and attention to detail with your work.

What you’ll bring:

• 2-5 years of experience minimum in a mechanical setting working on 8kw-60kw generators.
• Proven knowledge of preventative maintenance, load bank testing, and engine diagnostics.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical documents and service manual.
• Basic set of tools, specialty tools will be provided.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and work outside.
• Valid driver’s license.
