Job summary

Power Plus in the United States is hiring a Generator Shop Technician to diagnose, repair and maintain portable generators. This role may include field service, refueling, delivering and picking up generators, and providing technical support as needed.

Ideal candidates have extensive engine knowledge (John Deere, Cat, Cummins, Isuzu, Volvo, Doosan), ability to read wiring diagrams, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates strong organizational skills.
• Proven ability to multitask.
• Excellent time management and prioritization.
• Extensive knowledge of engines with manufacturer experience preferred.
• Understanding and troubleshooting AC generators and electrical systems preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Trouble shoot and makes repairs to generator fleet.
• Working with operations manager and generator fleet manager to prioritize repairs.
• Diagnose and/or order parts required for repairs.
• Tracking parts orders in system.
• Work on equipment.
• Ensure fleet is turned and rental ready.
• Enters all repairs in database (Gens Plus).
• Ensure shop in kept in a clean and safe work environment.
• Other duties may be assigned as business needs require.
