Job summary

Power Plus, Inc. is seeking a Generator Shop Technician in Houston, TX to diagnose, repair and maintain portable generators. Responsibilities include field service repairs, refueling, and assisting operations as needed, with occasional travel.

The role requires extensive knowledge of diesel engines, ability to read wiring diagrams, and experience with assorted generator brands. Forklift operation and a valid driver’s license are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining portable generators.
• Knowledge of diesel engines.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams.
• Experience with generator brands is a plus (Isuzu, Cat, Cummins, Doosan, MQ, MMD, Volvo, John Deere).
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate a forklift.
• Willingness to travel as needed for field service.

Responsibilities

• Trouble shoot and make repairs to generator fleet.
• Work with operations manager and generator fleet manager to prioritize repairs.
• Ordering of parts for repairs.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
• Must be able to assist field operations when needed.
• Ability to drive a company vehicle.
• On call rotation once approved to work in field.
