Job summary

New Jersey Resources' NJR Home Services is seeking a skilled Generator Service Technician to diagnose, repair and service residential and commercial standby generator systems. You will work independently, applying strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to deliver safe, reliable power solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of generator service, mechanical, electrical, or related field experience.
Current Generac Air-Cooled Certification preferred.
Generac Liquid-Cooled Certification preferred; candidates must be willing to obtain certification through company-sponsored training if not currently certified.
Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and service on generator systems and related equipment.
Troubleshoot generator performance issues and identify root causes through inspection and testing procedures.
Determine and implement corrective actions based on failure analysis and equipment evaluation.
Inspect, disassemble, repair, reassemble, and test generator engines and components for optimal performance.
Conduct start-up, commissioning, inspections, repairs, and load bank testing as required.
Complete warranty documentation accurately and timely.
Order and manage parts and materials for repairs and service activities.
Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair recommendations to customers and management.
Adhere to safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
