Job summary

Power Systems West is seeking an organized, service-minded Service Manager for our Generator Service Technicians, covering the Oregon market. The role oversees repair scheduling, technician productivity, hiring and coaching, and ensuring contract adherence.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in the generator field with management experience, strong customer service, and proficiency in Excel/Outlook. Expect a competitive $85,000–$100,000 salary with a company vehicle and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience in the generator industry preferred.
• 3–5 years of management experience with a team greater than 8 team members.
• Through understanding of Technician Efficiency and Productivity.
• Experience with Hiring, onboarding, and training staff in various roles.
• Excellent Customer Service and Communication skills.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Excellent understanding and execution of prioritization and sense of urgency.
• Excellent computer skills, including Excel and Outlook.
• Mechanical interest and/or work experience in Automotive, Engines, forklifts, Electrical field or related industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee scheduling of repairs and preventative maintenance jobs by Service Coordinators to ensure technicians are dispatched efficiently.
• Lead, manage, and be accountable for the team (LMA).
• Manage Work in Process daily with Service Coordinators and Technicians.
• Monitor Technician productivity and improve performance.
• Recruit, train, and retain Technicians.
• Develop and coach Technicians and Service Coordinators to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Review and approve service technician hours in payroll system daily.
• Coordinate with Service Sales Team to meet contract requirements and service levels.
• Maintain clean and organized facility and conduct safety initiatives.
