Generator Supercenter in West Springfield, MA is seeking a dependable Generator Mechanic / Service Technician. This full-time field-based role travels to residential sites to diagnose, maintain, and repair whole-home standby generators, including ATS systems.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in generator service or related mechanical/electrical work, strong customer service, and the ability to read wiring diagrams. A valid driver’s license and willingness to work in outdoor conditions are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of generator service or related mechanical/electrical work.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Physically able to perform job duties, including climbing ladders and lifting.
• Familiarity with residential generator systems and ATS technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle.
• Perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repairs on whole-home standby generators.
• Troubleshoot and service mechanical and electrical components, including ATS systems.
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Clearly communicate with customers regarding services performed and recommendations.
• Accurately document all work in our service management software.
• Follow safety protocols and industry best practices when working around electricity.
• Support emergency service calls during weather-related outages or storms as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (occasional flexibility required for emergencies)
• Job Type: Full-time
• Compensation: Based on experience and skill level
• Travel: Local/regional service calls using a company-provided vehicle
• Assisting with new generator installations when needed
