Job summary

Generator Supercenter is hiring a dependable Generator Mechanic / Service Technician to service whole-home standby generators in residential settings from West Springfield, MA. This full-time, Monday–Friday role requires travel in a company vehicle and hands-on repair experience.

You will diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical components, read wiring diagrams, and communicate clearly with customers, with comprehensive training and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of generator service, small engine repair, or related mechanical/electrical work.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Comfortable working independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Familiarity with residential generator systems and ATS technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle.
• Perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repairs on whole-home standby generators.
• Troubleshoot and service mechanical and electrical components, including ATS systems.
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Clearly communicate with customers regarding services performed and any recommendations.
• Accurately document all work in our service management software.
• Follow safety protocols and industry best practices when working around electricity.
• Support emergency service calls during weather-related outages or storms, as needed.

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (occasional flexibility required for emergencies)
• Job Type: Full-time
• Compensation: Based on experience and skill level
• Travel: Local/regional service calls using a company-provided vehicle
• Assisting with new generator installations when needed
