Job summary

Altitude AI, based in Salt Lake City, seeks a Software Engineer for an on-site role to build generative AI solutions that translate engineering drawings into automated PLC and robot programs. The position requires close collaboration with hardware and software teams in a dynamic startup environment.

You will work with Python, ML models, and data-extraction techniques on CAD and related formats, taking ownership from planning through rollout while contributing to cutting-edge automation

Qualifications

Proficient in Python and software engineering best practices.
Strong interest or experience in ML/LLMs and code generation.
Ability to interpret unstructured data (spreadsheets, PDFs, CAD files).
Demonstrated ownership from planning to rollout in a fast-paced startup.
Industrial automation, PLC programming, or robotics experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Generative AI & code synthesis: build models that generate PLC/robot programs from drawings and language inputs.
Industrial system integration with platforms like Studio 5000, TIA Portal, Roboguide.
Data extraction from drawings to support automation workflows.
Develop internal tools and infrastructure for AI-generated automation logic deployment.
Lead interactive development to enable engineers to collaborate with AI.
