Job summary

Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator for General Surgery in the New Albany, Indiana area. This full-time position involves scheduling patients for visits, tests, and procedures across hospital and affiliated facilities.

The role collaborates with Nurse Navigation, Genetics, Oncology, and Radiology departments; requires strong organization, accurate record keeping, and insurance authorizations. Prior clerical experience in a physician office is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–3 years clerical experience in a physician office preferred.
• Computer knowledge such as Medical Office and Scheduling Applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make appointments for patients in office and over the phone for doctors, testing, and to schedule procedures in hospital and at other facilities.
• Combined cases are scheduled at the same time as tumor removal with plastic surgeon.
• Work closely with Nurse navigation, Geneticists, Oncology, Surgery scheduling, Plastic Surgery and Radiology.
• Update medical records accordingly.
• Clear and concise communication regarding surgical scheduling is very important - organizational skill is key.
• Perform other general office assignments.
• Daily scanning of patient records into OnBase.
• Obtain appropriate authorization through the patient's insurance company.
