Florida Atlantic University’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, Department of Surgery, seeks an Associate Program Director for the General Surgery Residency Program to join the residency leadership team.

The APD will help advance curriculum, resident education and evaluation, and scholarly activity while ensuring quality and patient safety. The APD reports to the Chair and Program Director and will foster mentorship, recruitment, and program development across multiple clinical sites, with

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency.
• Board certification/eligibility in General Surgery.
• Eligibility for an unrestricted Florida medical license.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine, graduate medical education, teaching, and resident mentorship.

Responsabilités

• Provide educational, clinical, administrative, and operational leadership for the General Surgery Residency Program.
• Lead curriculum development, resident education and evaluation, and assessment of clinical experiences.
• Coordinate scheduling, rotations, recruitment, and faculty engagement.
• Promote scholarly activity, quality improvement, patient safety, and program accreditation.
• Collaborate with residents, faculty, leadership, and affiliated sites to advance program mission.
