Job summary

The University of Washington invites applications for a twelve-month, non-tenure track faculty position in the Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery, at UWMC-NW and UWMC-ML, with a Fall/Winter 2027 start. Ranks: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor (WOT).

The successful candidate will provide acute general surgery consultation, participate in teaching residents and medical students, and pursue scholarly work with potential for an advanced degree.

Qualifications

• MD degree (or foreign equivalent) Board eligibility (or foreign equivalent) by the American Board of Surgery.
• Eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington.
• USMLE steps completed or equivalent for visa sponsorship eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute general surgery consultation in inpatient, urgent and elective outpatient settings.
• Participate in teaching of surgical residents, medical students, and division fellows.
• Develop an area of scholarly expertise in consultation with division leadership.
• Work collaboratively with UW Medicine faculty across campuses.
